Manifesto Gàidhlig dha na Pàrtaidhean airson Taghaidhean Pàrlamaid Dhùn Èideann ’s a’ Chèitean 2007

  • Gabhail ri Poileasaidh Foghlam Gàidhlig cunbhalach airson gach ìre de dh’fhoghlam agus a’ gabhail a-staigh ìre Inbheach, le maoineachadh freagarrach airson am poileasaidh a chuir an cèill. Bu choir leithid de phoileasaidh a bhith a’ toirt a-staigh teagaisg eachdraidh na Gàidhlig mar chànan ’s mar chultur airson gach sgoil ann an Alba agus bu choir Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig bhi air a bhrosnachadh mar dhòigh èifeachdach airson foghlam da-chànanach.
  • Maoineachadh freagarrach airson molaidhean a’ Phlana Nàiseanta chuir an cèill.
  • Gabhail ri suidheachadh chudromach cultar na Gàidhlig agus na h-ealain Ghàidhlig ann an Achd Chulturachd an h-Alba.
  • Co-òrdanachadh èifeachdach leis an Riaghaltas airson molaidhean a’ Chùmhnant Eòrpach airson na Mion Chànanan, chuir an cèill.
  • Leasachaidhean ann an Craoladh Gàidhlig airson gu faigh gach neach ann an Alba seirbheisean cunbhalach rèidio agus programan telebhisean nuair a thig an t-seirbheis ur didsiotach.
  • Leudachadh le soidhnichean da-chànanach Gàidhlig/Beurla air na prìomh rathaidean dhan agus anns a’ Ghàidhealtachd ’s na h-Eileanan.
  • Taic airson foillseachadh pàipear Gàidhlig gach seachdain ann an Alba.

Gaelic Manifesto for the parties contesting the May 2007 Holyrood elections

  • Adopt a Comprehensive Gaelic Language Education Policy for all levels, including adult learning, along with the necessary resources to fulfil the aims of the policy. Such a policy should ensure that the teaching of the history of the Gaelic language and culture is introduced to all schools in Scotland and that the availability of Gaelic Medium Education is promoted as an effective method of achieving Gaelic/English bilingualism in education.
  • Adequate funding for the full implementation of the National Plan for Gaelic.
  • Recognition of the role of Gaelic culture and the Gaelic Arts within the proposed Culture Act.
  • Effective co-ordination by the Executive of the implementation of the provisions of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages in respect of Gaelic.
  • Improvements in the coverage of radio and television services in all areas of Scotland to ensure that all households are able to get Gaelic radio and digital television programmes particularly following the analogue/digital changeover.
  • Extend the use of Gaelic/English bilingual road and direction signs on all Trunk roads serving and within the Highlands and Islands.
  • Support for the publication of a Gaelic weekly newspaper in Scotland.
