Developments using bilingual signs4th July 2007 More and more companies are using Gàidhlig as an effective way of raising their business profile. Several companies have recently put up bilingual signs with support from Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG) in different locations. The Highland printing company Nevisprint have erected bilingual signs outside their factory in Fort William. Nevisprint work very closely with communities and Gaelic organisations and they intend to continue their support for the language. The recent purchase of the Aultguish Inn on the A835 has presented an opportunity to develop the premises. As part of the development the new owners have decided to use Gaelic as a marketing tool. The local community has welcomed their decision to use external bilingual signs and we wish them every success with the new developments.
Based on the Black Isle, Kessock Equine Vets have used Gàidhlig as part of their of their business strategy. In addition to the use of bilingual signs, they have incorporated much Gaelic content into their website. CnaG was pleased to be able to help JM Joinery who have painted their van in a bilingual livery: one side appearing in Gaelic and the other in English. Finally, we were happy to support Detail Events, North West Outdoors and the West Coast Foodstore in Kyle of Lochalsh who have all used Gaelic in their business activities.
