2 Chùrsa fèin-leasachaidh do sgoiltean22mh Ògmhìos 2007 Tha Comunn na Gàidhlig air dà chùrsa fèin-leasachaidh a ruith aig Outward Bound Loch Iall faisg air a’ Ghearsdan. Thairis air dà sheachdain, ghabh sgoilearan Acadamaidh Inbhir Pheofharain agus Àrd-sgoil Greenfaulds à Comar nan Allt pàirt ann an tòrr ghìomharan tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig. Tha na cùrsaichean seo air an ruith tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig aig gach ìre ’s tha cothroman aig sgoilearan a bhith ag ionnsachadh sgilean ùra tron chànan. Tha feallsanachd nan cùrsaichean seo a’ toirt dùbhlan do chompairtichean ann an suidheachadh sàbhailte ach far a bheil cothrom-ionnsachaidh ri fhaighinn. Airson na cuairt-beinne, chaidh sgioba Acadamaidh Inbhir Pheofharain gu Peathan Meadhanach, àite brèagha eadar Loch nan Uamh ’s Loch Ailleart, far an robh bothan ’s àite campachaidh. Às dèidh cèilidh thradaiseanta làn sgeulachdan ’s fealla-dhà chadail a h-uile duine gu math ’s iad deiseil airson coiseachd air ais an ath latha. Bha sgoilearan Àrd-sgoil Greenfaulds a’ dèanamh air Gleann Sùileag le dà dhòigh-siubhail: bàta ’s coiseachd. A-rithist bha deagh oidhche againn a’ campachadh a-muigh ann an teantaichean ’s an ath latha bha sinn fortanach le beagan gaoithe a’ cumail nam meanbh-chuilleig air falbh! Tha an iomairt seo a’ togail misneachd le sgoilearan a’ bruidhinn Gàidhlig ann an suidheachadh neo-fhoirmeil ’s taobh a-muigh na sgoile. Tha dùil ri dà chùrsa eile fhathast ann an 2007. 2 personal development courses for schools22nd June 2007 Comunn na Gàidhlig have run two successful personal development courses at Outward Bound Loch Eil near Fort William. Over consecutive two weeks, students from Dingwall Academy and Greenfaulds High School in Cumbernauld took part in many activities through the medium of Gaelic. These courses are conducted through the medium of Gaelic at every level and participants have the opportunity to learn new skills through the language. The underlying theory of the courses is that each activity should be challenging although in a safe environment with ample learning opportunities. For the expedition the Dingwall Academy team went to Peanmeanach, a beautiful area between Loch nan Uamh and Lochailort and where there is a bothy and good campsite. After a traditional cèilidh full of stories and fun, everyone got a good night's sleep in the tents to prepare for the journey back the next day. Pupils from Greenfaulds High School went to Glen Sùileag for their expedition by two methods of travel: sea and land. Again we had a great night camping out in the tents and the next day we were fortunate enough to have a slight breeze which kept the midges away! This initiative helps students build confidence in their spoken Gaelic in an informal situation and outside of the school environment. Two other courses are planned for 2007 For further information on this intiative please contact domhnallmorris@cnag.org.uk |
